Information you submit

When you use a downloader, the source URL must be sent to the relevant ContentDown service so it can attempt to identify supported public media. Do not submit passwords, private credentials or sensitive information.

Technical and analytics information

Like most web services, ContentDown infrastructure can process ordinary request information needed for security, reliability and diagnostics. Where analytics is enabled, aggregate usage events can help us understand page performance and product usage.

Browser-side tools

The Media Inspector, Aspect Ratio Calculator and File Size Calculator are designed to perform their calculations in your browser. The Media Inspector does not need to upload the selected file to ContentDown for its basic inspection.

Third-party services

ContentDown relies on hosting, infrastructure and source-platform services to operate. Those providers can process requests according to their own policies. Advertising, if enabled, may also involve third-party technologies and consent controls.
